Beate is joining us from the University of Mannheim where she recently obtained her PhD, supervised by Ulrich Wagner. Beate is an applied microeconomist with main research interests in environmental and labor economics. Her current work studies the causal effects of environmental conditions on health and productivity. Besides, she is investigating determinants of individual and team performance among knowledge workers in modern work environments.
Beate is excited to getting to know both her new colleagues at the Department of Economics and the beautiful city of Vienna. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor sports, especially running, cycling, and hiking, as well as playing the guitar.
Anastasia Leontiou is joining us from the University of Ioannina, Greece, where she obtained her PhD under the supervision of Fabio Antoniou. Her main research interests lie in the fields of behavioural economics, industrial organization, and applied microeconomic theory. Her work focuses on the implications of loss aversion in decision-making, strategic interaction, price discrimination, and market competition.
In her free time, Anastasia loves long walks in the city, hiking, and taking trips during the weekends. She is looking forward to getting to know everyone at the department.
